With so much beauty surrounding the town, the options for some springtime fun are endless. Which is why we’ve put together a list of our 5 favorite outdoor activities for a nice day out in Branson.
Branson’s prime location leaves it surrounded by beautiful mountains, lakes, and of course hiking. There are stunning trails ready to be explored for beginners and experts alike. One of our personal favorites is walking trail at Dogwood Canyon. Not only is this 6.5 mile path family friendly, but it crosses paths with multiple impressive waterfalls, and limestone bluffs.
There’s nothing more relaxing than a day spent fishing by the lake. More specifically, a day spent fishing at Table Rock Lake. This renowned fishing spot is easily one of the most popular in Missouri due to its large number of Kentucky spotted bass, white bass, crappie, large bluegill, and catfish. If you’re in need of assistance you can easily get set up with a guide to teach you the ropes, and if you’re an expert then you can easily participate in one of the many fishing tournaments hosted on the lake.
If you’re looking for a more thrilling outdoor activity, then look no further than Adventure Ziplines of Branson. Soar over the trees and feel the wind in your face as you endure 8 different lines and 10 different suspension bridges. There are multiple packages to choose from based on how extreme you want to go – one of them including a 100-foot free fall. Talk about a good time!
If walking a 6.5 mile trail isn’t your thing, then horseback riding through the beautiful Ozarks is a great alternative. Shepherd of the hills offers affordable riding at just $30 a person for an hour out on the trails. Your journey will mostly be shaded and take you through cedar glades and tall oak forests.
There are a surprising number of caves to explore in Branson, but our personal favorite is Talking Rocks Cavern. During your 265 step descent to the natural floor of the cave, you’ll be met with impressive curtain and beacon formations, but that isn’t even the most exciting part. The cavern also has crawl mazes to explore and the opportunity to mine for precious gems and minerals during your visit!
